Outlining Your Novel: Map Your Way to Success

Outlining Your Novel: Map Your Way to Success - K. M. Weiland First reading attemptFrom December 23, 2012 until February 17, 2013Notes:I began this book with the full intention of going through the entirety of it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, life got on the way and I couldn't go farther than 17% into it. I'm taking off my currently reading shelve (as I'm really not reading it at all) for the time being. I will come back to it in the future.

It Happened One Valentine's Day: An Avon Romance Valentine's Day Sampler

It Happened One Valentine's Day: An Avon Romance Valentine's Day Sampler - Eloisa James, Kerrelyn Sparks, Lynsay Sands, Liz Carlyle, Rachel Gibson, Sophie Jordan, Beverly Jenkins, Kathleen Harrington, Pamela Palmer, Jeaniene Frost, Emma Cane, Jennifer McQuiston, Jennifer Ryan, Cheryl Harper Note: Even though it's an anthology of excerpts, I've been wanting to read this compilation since the moment is was announced. But for some reason it always shows (still does) as not currently available for purchase for me at Amazon.com. Yet, I just went into the iTunes store and not only did I found the book, I was able to download it at the promised free rate. I'm don't understand it; it's official, I'm baffled.

Twice Tempted: A Night Prince Novel

Twice Tempted - Jeaniene Frost With that ending a third book has to be on the works. Also, it contains a very small sneak peak at Up From the Grave. Review to come.

Hexed (The Iron Druid Chronicles, Book Two)

Hexed - Kevin Hearne The series keeps getting better and better. I struggled a bit at times because Atticus knows how to be a jerk, but for the most parts it's an awesome story. Definitively worth the time.

Initiate

Initiate - Nulli Para Ora What a beautiful story, short, but amazing! Review to come!

Rocked Under (Volume 1)

Rocked Under (Volume 1) - Cora Hawkes I had such a mix of emotions while reading this book that I wanted to both chuck it out the window and keep reading until the very end. Obviously I kept my kindle, otherwise I wouldn't have finished it. Following the main character's relationships was like watching a train wreck, you know things can only go from bad to worse but you still stick around to see it crash and burn so magnificently. The best part is that the interactions, although a little crazy at times, felt pretty real. It literary took me about 5 hours to read through the whole thing; it was around 2:30am when I started and is currently 7:40am as I'm typing this. Yup, I really couldn't put it down and I officially feel emotionally exhausted. What a damn ride!!!These are my immediate thoughts, I'll expand my review later on, after I catch up on some Zzzz...

Steel and Lace (Lace #1)

Steel and Lace - Adriane Leigh Downloaded this book for free today at Amazon. Is a very short, erotica novella that features a young, billionaire business man and a 26-year-old online, fashion magazine editor. They have enough chemistry with one another capable of scorching the entire New York City in one single sweep. I like the actual plot of the story, unfortunately is too short and rushed that there is no time for the characters to develop and in the end I really couldn’t care much for them. Also, I don’t look at grammar when I’m reading for pleasure, but sometimes some errors just jump off the page. For example, right at the beginning of the story: Cate swiped two glasses of champagne from a waiter that was passing by and our eyes scanned the room accessing the crowd. (Kindle Locations 15-16) The emphasis is mine. I’m guessing that the girls were assessing the crowd. Then, almost three quarters into the story: I nodded to each of them with a smile, and began fidgeting with my hands under the table. Carter noticed, and took his warm hand in mind, holding it in his lap. (Kindle Locations 333-334) First time I read of a man capable of holding his mind on his lap, now that's a trick worth seeing. There really are not that many errors, but the few that are, are a bit obvious. In all, I wish the story had been longer. I don’t mind a steamy erotica story, but I like them with a little bit more plot to them.

Love is Darkness: A Valerie Dearborn Novel

Love is Darkness: A Valerie Dearborn Novel - Caroline Hanson A really fun and quick story with lot's of witty lines that had me smiling through the whole thing. Short enough that it can be read in minutes, a little rushed, yet satisfying for such a short story. I'm looking forward to read more about this author. Some Quotes:Said by the main character:"Fortunately, I’m the best Wiccan in a two state area. So my personality literally can’t get me fired. (Kindle Locations 43-44).""endless windows giving the impression of being outside. It was exactly how I liked nature— air conditioned and bug free. (Kindle Locations 58-59)."

The Chocolate War

The Chocolate War - Robert Cormier I'm sorry, but I could barely get through this book. It was assigned to me (and the rest of the class) as part of our Young Adult Literature Course. Maybe I came into the book with bad picture already as the professor showed us the 1988 movie version. The movie was horrible and, to me, the book was no better. I don't really mind controversial themes in literature at all; but just that the writing style put me off.

Bonds of Justice (Psy/Changeling Novels)

Bonds of Justice - Nalini Singh Loved it! I want to read a book on Nikita! Review to come.

A Conversation (Psy-Changeling 7.5)

A Conversation (Psy-Changeling 7.5) - Nalini Singh A single, short scene that can be found for free at Nalini Singh's website. A conversation between Teijan and Zane, spy Rats allied to DarkRiver and SnowDancers. Is not necessary to read as it doesn't really expands the universe; but it does give an insight into the minds of those who live down below.
