Ok, so first things first. The book has a total of 249 pages out of which the last 3 pages are about references; not 168 like it says on the description. Is in Spanish. The book is a compendium about the history and philosophy of education. Its very clear and direct to its points, the explanations feel short but complete. I don't normally like history books because they tend to be boring and redundant; however, this one is perfect. I bought it because it was a class requirement and i'm actually glad i got it. Its one of those books that you can keep for years and it will still be relevant. The book is divided in 6 parts:First Part: Ancient Era (mythology, spartan education, Athenian education, intellectual education, classical philosophy, roman education)Second Part: Medieval Education (royal education, noble education, Charlemagne and popular instruction, the impact of the crusades in education, cathedral schools, the universities, scholasticism, vocational education)Third Part: The Renaissance and The Reform (renaissance schools, the reform, the counter-reform)Fourth Part: Modern Era (pedagogical realism, pedagogical naturalism, pedagogical science)Fifth Part: Education in the Americas (education in the USA, education in Latin America)Sixth Part: Contemporary Education Philosophy (Reconstructionism, existentialism in education, behaviorism, analytical philosophy, ethics and values)
